The first interior photos of the Ineos Grenadier have been released before production of the off-roader starts in mid-2022.
The Grenadier is the brainchild of billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the owner of chemicals giant Ineos. It has been in development for a number of years now and for the first time, we get to see what the interior looks like.
Much of the cabin is clad in durable, stain-resistant materials that means it can be hosed out, while there are drain holes on the floor. Dominating the cabin is a prominent center console with large buttons and dials for things like the climate control, seat heating, window heating, and audio system. In addition, the Grenadier features a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, an analog clock, and a plethora of additional switches on the roof. It looks rugged but with a splash of modern technology.

One component of the Grenadier that really stands out is the BMW-sourced gear selector. This is because the Grenadier will be offered with BMW-sourced six-cylinder petrol and diesel powertrains that are paired to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission also sourced from current BMW models. Positioned next to this gear selector is a manual lever for the low-range transfer case.
“When we started thinking about the Grenadier’s interior, we looked carefully at modern aircraft, boats and even tractors for inspiration, where switches are (located) for optimal function, regular controls are close to hand, auxiliary ones are further away,” Ineos Grenadier head of design Toby Ecuyer said in a statement. “You can see the same approach in the Grenadier: the layout is functional and logical, designed with ease of use in mind. It has everything you need and nothing you don’t.”
